Black History Month is underway. Have you done anything to celebrate or honor this? There are a few immediate and easy actions you can take, as well as ongoing options for daily efforts.
First, why is there Black History Month? Because Black History is sadly not included in most school curriculums. The majority of us would list a plethora of white men when tasked to list the contributors to America’s progress as a country. And that’s simply not true. We just haven’t been taught. We haven’t allowed the inventors, scientists, politicians, artists, activists, and many other amazing Black leaders in our history their well earned credit.
